Raw Milk Farmhouse Cheese (‘Boerenkaas’)
De Producent has been one of the most important suppliers of Raw Milk Farmhouse Cheese since 1915
Farmhouse Cheese is made on small-scale cheese factories on Dutch farms. The unprocessed milk that is used for cheese making originates mainly from the same farm. This traditional process motivates a short and transparent supply chain.
Raw Milk Farmhouse Cheese is made from raw milk. This means that the milk is heated up to no higher than 40 degrees Celsius during the cheese-making process, allowing the milk to maintain its characteristic flavor. Raw Milk Farmhouse Cheese is aromatic and unique in flavor. Due to the traditional process, each cheese acquires its own specific flavor and character. Raw Milk Farmhouse Cheese (‘Boerenkaas’) is a protected label strictly controlled by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) and the Dutch Controlling Authority for Milk and Milk Products (COKZ).
Raw Milk Farmhouse Cheese (‘Boerenkaas’) is recognizable from the quality mark on the cheese label and the Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (GST) quality label.
